Chuck Shurley

Chuck Shurley, portrayed by Rob Benedict, is a character that first appears near the end of season four. He is the author of a series of books, aptly called Supernatural. He writes them under the pen name Carver Endlund. Although the books don't have huge success, they do develop a very dedicated fanbase. The books are actually based on the dreams Chuck has about Sam and Dean's life.

As a prophet of God, he has the protection of an archangel, which comes in handy more than once in the 'protection of Chuck' line of duty.

He has appeared in five episodes thus far, The Monster At The End Of This Book (Season 4, Episode 18), Lucifer Rising (Season 4, Episode 22), Sympathy For The Devil (Season 5, Episode 1), The End (Season 5, Episode 4), and The Real Ghostbusters (Season 5, Episode 9).
